Service project performed FOR our Seniors
The youth group of Eitz Chaim would like to perform some service projects for our senior members. If you as a senior have some projects you need help with please contact Terry and Mieling Watson. They are envisioning the young people helping seniors with tasks around the house. Interior cleaning for the girls, Yard Work outside for the boys, or whatever project you might suggest. They are wanting to perform one service project per month with the teens.
Call Terry 972-898 7877 to Discuss the possibilities and get onto the list.
Man does not live by chips alone…………….Part of the fellowship of Oneg is that we have all provided a little something to share and make a great meal for everyone. Many who don’t cook can pick up something at the store that is acceptable such as premade salads, like potato, egg, or macaroni, many other premade items are also available in the stores. It seems that chips is the go to for many and currently we can have as many as 21 bags of chips at any time. So in addition to asking you to bring something, we are also asking that you be a bit more creative in your selection and find an alternative to chips. Some suggestions below:
“Alternatives to chips”
Pickles, pickled peppers, pickled cauliflower, pickled okra, olives, beets, artichokes, cottage cheese, canned fruit, sunflower seeds, cheese singles, feta cheese, cheese wedges, Cheese spreads, Croutons, gluten free chips, guacamole, artichoke/spinach dip. Sliced cheese, the possibilities are endless, just keep in mind no pork, meat, chicken, crustaceans and look for kosher symbols on packaged goods. Stores often have warm foods like potato wedges or other acceptable items that can be warmed in our warmers. Lemonade, fruit punch, tea, coffee creamer, half and half are other options that would be appreciated.
We do not need large quantities – just things to embellish a great salad or add to the Oneg selections. Thank you!
