The word “tzedakah” is derived from the Hebrew root meaning righteousness, justice or fairness. It is a basic and simple good deed, an act which anyone may perform. Yet tzedakah changes not only the recipient, but the giver as well. Through tzedakah, the world is improved and our righteous deeds also change us from self centered to outward focused. It is an amazing transformation. Little by little we are being transformed from who we were to who Yeshua chooses for us to be.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Adonai-Tzva’ot, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” – Malachi 3:10
